As shared on their website: Chef Jeff Riley’s culinary journey began at 16 in his family’s restaurant, Ted Cook’s 19th Hole BBQ. By 18, he was fully immersed in the kitchen, discovering how great food can bring people together.
His passion led him to Nicollet Island Inn, where he mastered technical cooking techniques, refined his craft, and embraced the discipline of creating exceptional, handcrafted dishes without cutting corners.
In 2004, Chef Jeff founded Chef Jeff Catering with two goals: to deliver high-quality catering services and to create career opportunities for youth and families in Minneapolis.
From the start, his mission was about more than food—it was about building community, partnering with churches and nonprofits to empower individuals facing barriers to employment.
In 2015, Jeff’s daughter, Amber, joined the business, bringing her expertise in marketing and business strategy. Together, they’ve grown Chef Jeff Catering into a thriving, values-driven company that blends quality food with community impact.
Today, the team continues to push boundaries, offering mentorship, skill-building, and unforgettable culinary experiences. More than a catering business, Chef Jeff Catering is a launchpad for growth, opportunity, and connection—where food serves a greater purpose and people always come first.
